About the  Portal

EPSO’s online portal is a collection of useful links relevant to members of the plant science community. Some information previously available on several pages of the EPSO webpage has now been placed ‘under one roof’ on the EPSO portal (meetings and jobs, for example). The aim of this initiative is to facilitate the search for information by providing a one-stop shop for members.

This portal is divided into nine categories:

-          Research funding: Here you will find links to the main international, European and national funding agencies. To start with, only information on European and national funding agencies featured in EPSO News will be available. Agencies offering transnational opportunities will be the first to appear on the portal. Later, the collection will be expanded to include all the national agencies supporting plant-related research.

-          Key actors in plant science: This section will contain links to the websites of plant-related research institutes (EPSO members and others), science organisations, industrial and other plant science entities.

-          European Union: Here you will find EU websites and databases, as well as a few websites providing assistance on project writing.

-          Scientific databases: This section will link to the main genomic databases, with an emphasis on the one related to plants. They will be sorted both alphabetically and by plants.

-          Journals: Links to a selection of relevant scientific journals will be on offer here. Major international and national journals and newspapers will also appear here.

-          Online tools: A selection of online tools, such as MapMan and Gene Map, will be featured here.

-          Meetings and practical courses: Event announcements submitted by EPSO members will be displayed here, as well as other general websites announcing scientific gatherings.

-          Jobs: Open positions submitted by EPSO members will appear here. In addition, there will be links to the main scientific job databases and the European mobility portals.

-          Educational resources: General public educational resources on plants, plant research and biotechnology will appear here.

At first, only the first three categories will be live. In the course of the year, the others categories will be phased in.

The comprehensiveness and accuracy of the links on the portal would not be possible without your help. Please send us your links.
