International Conference on Plant Resistance Sustainability, 16-19 October 2012, nr Nice, France

The main challenge currently facing agricultural research  i.e., to find efficient and sustainable ways to produce food for a growing population in a changing world, calls for extensive efforts and a cross-disciplinary approach.

In this context, genetic resistance is a privileged approach to efficiently manage crop health with limited economic and environmental impacts.

However pests evolve and/or emerge, so that one of the key issues for research at the crossroads of plant genetics and pathology, agronomy, population and landscape ecology, management sciences, economy, geography, and sociology among other disciplines, is the sustainable management of crop resistance to pests.
