The CBGP (www.cbgp.upm.es) is a joint UPM-INIA research center, recently appointed as a ‘Severo Ochoa’ Center of Excellence, one in only 25 research centers in Spain. Some of the upcoming calls for postdoctoral positions are specifically devoted only to ‘Severo Ochoa’ centers.

The Plant Virus Biotechnology group at the CBGP (http://www.cbgp.upm.es/plant_virusbio.php) holds mainly two research lines, placed at the interphase between Plant Virology and Biotechnology. The first one deals with the effects of plant viruses on plant developmental traits. These effects are characterized at molecular, cellular, and physiological levels from both the virus and the plant standpoints. The second line represents a nanobiotechnological approach to the exploitation of plant viruses, in which a specific platform is currently being developed towards very different applications.

The group is presently funded by both national and European grants.
