Research Fellow  - integrated control programme for viruses of field vegetables focusing mostly on plant gene mapping and characterisation

Funding at level 6 is available for a maximum of 18 months; this might have to be shortened up to a maximum contract length of 13 months to end by 23.10.19 at the latest, depending on the starting salary of the successful candidate.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with the Project Leader, the Co-Investigator, collaborators in the project at other research institutions and with industry to develop an integrated control programme for viruses of field vegetables focusing mostly on plant gene mapping and characterisation. You will also supervise a part-time research technician also working on the project.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and ideally post-doctoral research experience. You will also have experience of working in any one or more of the following disciplines, plant molecular biology, molecular plant pathology, plant genomics, and plant research. We are more interested in the general abilities of the applicants rather than their specific prior experience. Experience of supervising staff and or students would be desirable.
