Full Professor (W3) in General Genetics
The successful candidate pursues an internationally recognized research program in the field of molecular or cell biology of plants. Scientific achievements of the applicant must be demonstrated by excellent publications and by a successful record in acquiring external funding. He/She is expected to teach genetics in its entirety.
Possible research areas comprise genetics of plant physiological and biochemical processes, genetics of plant interactions with other organisms, evolutionary genetics, the genetic basis of biodiversity, or genomics-based approaches in plant biology and ecology.
As a part of the Tübingen Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP) the successful candidate is expected to cooperate closely with other research groups therein. Active contribution to the planned Collaborative Research Centre on 'Molecular mechanisms conferring specificity in plant development' is most desirable. We further envisage scientific co-operations with the Tübingen-based Max-Planck-Institute for Developmental Biology, the Interfaculty Institute of Microbiology and Infection Medicine, and the Evolution and Ecology Forum Tübingen (EvE).
A formal requirement for appointment is postdoctoral experience in scientific research and teaching that is equivalent to a habilitation.
