Internship Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated PhD student to work remotely on our communications on European Research Programmes.  After a first meeting in Brussels, the intern will work in regular contact with the EPSO Publications Officer.  The intern will aim to tailor communications for the EPSO membership and the general public.

Assist Communications for the Fascination of Plants Day (FoPD) - starting March/April/May 2017

The fourth international Fascination of Plants Day will take place on and around the 18th of May 2017 under the umbrella of EPSO. The goal of this activity is to get as many people as possible around the world fascinated by plants.  FoPD 2015 took place in 56 countries and 965 events were held at 589 institutions, see the success stories.

The FoPD was initiated by the academic community as an interactive, bottom-up activity designed to engage the public with plants and plant science.

During the internship you will be involved in sourcing news items from across the world for the FoPD website and promoting the FoPD online via social media.  On and around the FoPD you will follow events happening across the world, collate success stories, and help us prepare the final report showcasing this global initiative.  You will also have the chance to encourage events in your local area, such as interaction with schools.

You will develop skills in science communication to the general public, social media, and writing.

The language of the internship is English and would provide non-native speakers with a chance to improve their written communication in English.
