Internship Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated PhD student to work remotely on our communications on European Research Programmes.  After a first meeting in Brussels, the intern will work in regular contact with the EPSO Publications Officer.  The intern will aim to tailor communications for the EPSO membership and the general public.

Report on European Plant Science Research Programmes - starting Dec ‘16/ early 2017

Horizon 2020 provides researchers with a vital funding source through programmes such as the European Research Council (ERC) and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) to strengthen their research and networks.  The ERC supports individual researchers who wish to pursue frontier research, and the MSCA on training.  In depth knowledge of these programmes could be a valuable asset to an early career researcher and their institution.

EPSO provides its members with in-depth information on the planning, calls for proposals, and final analysis of these programmes through briefings, newsletters, and social media activity.

During the internship you will be involved in the preparation and dissemination of these materials, mainly the analysis of the previous year’s calls, interviewing participants who have benefitted from funding, and writing articles.  You will develop skills in communication and gain a deeper understanding of European research programmes.

The language of the internship is English and would provide non-native speakers with a chance to improve their written communication in English.
