Workshops

We offer you the possibility to organise workshops or other satellite events in conjunction with the 5th EPSO Conference.

Current Workshops:

Workshop on outreach and education activities:

This workshop will discuss outreach and education activities of the EPSO members and the potential for future collaborative work.

You will have the opportunity to discuss best practice examples, network, learn from other members' experiences and discuss how EPSO may support such activities.

The workshop will be chaired by Jan Kellmann of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology, Jena, Germany. Please contact Jan Kellmann if you are interested to join this workshop which is covered by the Conference registration fee.

The foreseen time slot for the workshop will be in parallel of the Poster session I on Monday 30 August from 20:00 to 22:00.

Research Action Plan "Plants for the Future":

This workshop will discuss input to the Research Action Plan of the European Technology Platform (ETP) ‘Plants for the Future’ in which EPSO represents academia.

You should study in preparation the Strategic Research Agenda of the ETP ‘Plants for the Future’, specifically the challenge on ‘Sustainable Agriculture’ and consider which of the research activities described are the main bottlenecks that research has to address in the coming 3-5 years. These bottlenecks will be assembled in the workshop and be part of the input from EPSO to the Research Action Plan. In addition suggestions at which level to address these bottlenecks (European, multinational – e.g. ERA-Networks and Joint Programming, national) will be very valuable.

Further input will come from similar workshops organised by the other two stakeholders of the ETP ‘Plants for the Future’ at their conferences: CopaCogeca (farming communities) and ESA (industry).

The workshop will be chaired by Ulrich Schurr and Karin Metzlaff, both members of the Executive Committee of the ETP ‘Plants for the Future’ from academia.

The foreseen time slot for the workshop is Thursday 2 September from 09:00 to 10:30 so that all participants who plan to depart with the Thursday noon flight from Kittila can participate.
